See what a recent patient had to say after getting 3 procedures at a well-known hair implants national clinic and then 1 procedure with Dr. Bolton!

Yes, you are a product of your parent's genes, and male pattern balding, or androgenic alopecia, is inherited. This is not a myth, however, this is a fact
7
After a transplant, will I have the same head of hair I had when I was younger?
No. Although results can be dramatic and cosmetically enhance your looks, patients will not achieve the same level of density as they had in their youth.

Styling thin hair for both men and women can be a problem. Men and women experiencing hair loss may have difficulty achieving the look and style they desire. Males and females with thin hair may lack volume and it may not cover the scalp or may lie flat against their head. When this happens, thinning or bald spots can be more apparent.

Hair implants have been around for about 60 years now. In the beginning, they used "punch grafts" which resulted in what is commonly referred to as "hair plugs" or "the dolls head look." These implants were visible, unsightly, and a black eye on the hair industry.

Everyone, including smokers, knows that smoking is bad for your health, but what you may not realize is that smoking is bad for your hair as well. If you are a smoker and plan to get a hair transplant shortly, it might be in your best interest to think twice about smoking before and after your surgery.

Anytime you undergo any surgery, including a cosmetic surgery you want to make sure that everything is being done so that you get the best results with no mistakes. Many hair transplant doctors will try to make more money by having you be one of many patients on a particular day, but this is not in your best interest and leaves room for mistakes.

Hair implant surgery dates back to the 1950's. From 1950 to about 1985, the operation produced limited results. Since the small bundles of hair moved from the donor were grouped too large, the effect coined the phrase, "plugs." Usually, this appearance occurred when the patient lost their real hair a few years following the procedure when it produced a "corn row" or "dolls head" look. These "plugs" were unsightly and highly noticeable.

Those not well acquainted with the hair industry probably aren't aware that there is a hair surgery revolution and it's happening right now. This hair surgery revolution is filled with new innovative hair restoration techniques such as the MaxHarvest™ procedure, created by Dr. Brett Bolton a pioneer in the hair industry, that gives patients twice the hair for half the cost and double the density.

Hair implants have been around for about 60 years now. In the beginning, they used "punch grafts" which resulted in what is commonly referred to as "hair plugs" or "the dolls head look." These implants were visible, unsightly, and a black eye on the hair industry. Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) has been around now for about 20 years and is considered the gold standard in the industry. Plugs are now just a sore spot in history.

When someone loses their hair, they are faced with many unanswered questions. The first question is usually why am I losing my hair? The main answer is genetics and is referred medically as Androgenic Alopecia, or as it is better known as male or female pattern hair loss. Due to the fact it is genetic, it will just be a matter of time before the patient goes bald. How far, or what balding pattern will eventually emerge? Only time will tell.

So you are losing your hair and are looking for a way to get your hair back. After watching countless infomercials on late night television you think a non-surgical hair system might be the answer for your hair loss. However, one thing to keep in mind is a hairpiece is a hairpiece is a hairpiece! It doesn't matter what you call it! Can you refer to it as strand by strand? Do you prefer non-surgical replacement? How about laser hair replacement? Or, what about a bio-matrix? That sounds interesting. Do you like poly fuse? I think you get the idea. Then there are the less tactful ways of referring to a non-surgical hair system such as a wig, a hairpiece or a toupee (ouch)! How do you feel if someone calls it a rug? That's not good! The point I am trying to make is whatever you call the hair attachment, it's all the same thing. A non-surgical hair replacement solution is just that! It is not growing out of your head. It needs to be maintained and replaced often or it will look extremely fake!

This might be hard to believe for some but there are nearly 60 million men and women walking around the world with bald spots! Since it is so common, is it not normal? Yes, as a matter of fact, it is very normal. Until it happens to you! I have personally met men who have explained the emotional feeling of going through life with a bald spot like walking around a mall with no pants on! They feel naked and ashamed. These men and women are constantly comparing themselves to those who have full heads of hair.

Some things get better with time, and a hair restoration has not only gotten better but has exceeded all expectation of what a hair transplant could be. Medical specialties never stop evolving (thankfully) and every year they get just a little bit better and a lot more precise.
19
Even in the medical industry, you can't believe everything you see or hear, so it is best for you to do plenty of research to determine what is factual amongst all the misrepresented products being thrown at you.
20
Many people think cosmetic surgery as something women take part in, from breast implants to liposuction, however, hair transplants are the number one cosmetic for men.
21
Deciding to get a hair transplant is the first step. The second step is choosing the right hair surgeon and clinic for your surgery. Both large and small practices have distinct advantages and disadvantages. As the hair transplant industry is a niche market, it is also service-driven and customer-oriented.
22
So, you've decided to get a hair transplant! That was the easy part. Now you have to consider many things, so you don't end up a transplant victim.
23
As the old saying goes: If you're going to do something, do it right the first time. This couldn't be truer than when it comes to hair transplants. A hair transplant may be an outpatient procedure performed in the doctor's office, but it is still surgery with permanent results. Getting a second or third hair transplant to fix bad results from a prior procedure is expensive, frustrating and aggravating, it should also be unnecessary. Also, a person only has so much donor hair, that once used can never be replaced. Therefore, the fewer surgeries you need to get the more donor hair you have to spare if you need it in the future.

In our day and age hair holds more importance anyone realizes until that hair begins to fall out. Then suddenly, the true importance of hair in your life and it's effect on your confidence is known.

There are bad hair days and bad hair years. If you've had a bad hair transplant or a bad experience with hair transplantation, you can be having a bad hair day for life.
