A Hair Transplant Can Actually Be a Wonderful Experience!
There is only one way to describe losing your hair, and that is, it sucks! There is absolutely nothing positive about losing one’s hair. Most people go through a few months or years of trying different hair restoration drugs, hair restoration shampoo, or hair restoration vitamins, before coming to the conclusion that they are too far gone and will need a hair restoration surgery.
Once reality has finally hit that the hair is not growing back, the following steps must be taken as quickly as possible:
- You must set up an appointment with a hair loss specialist. This is a doctor that specializes in hair loss and does hair transplant surgery full-time.
- If you are male, this doctor will most likely prescribe DHT blocker which will help slow or stop your hair loss.
- Do NOT expect to grow any new hair from DHT blocker.
- You will need to start your online research. Once you have the hair surgery basics down, begin to look at doctors, their before and after photos. Some doctors may have some before and after videos which will be even more interesting to you.
- Make sure you ask the doctors how many hairs you will be getting for the hair transplant price. Do not be fooled and be priced by the graft. Grafts are almost always manipulated and will end up getting you less hair for more money. If you do your homework and are quoted by the hair, you will end up getting more hair for less money. (That is a little secret you will need to remember)
- Make sure your doctor has a well-trained staff and has been working with them for at least one year. The better hair transplant doctors have excellent quality control over their staff. This is extremely important.
- Make sure your doctor discusses the surgical plan with you in detail. Since this is not an exact science, meaning there could be a little more tissue, or a little less tissue moved than planned for, the doctor should be advising your on 3 separate target areas. The first in the front, the second in the mid scalp, the third in the crown, as an example.
- DO NOT fly somewhere for a low price surgery where the doctor is flying in, the staff is flying in, and the patients are flying in. This is an example of cluster surgery where the staff gets tired, the doctor is trying to work on 3 – 4 patients at once, and the quality control is ou the window!
If you follow my advice, you will have an absolutely wonderful hair restoration surgery. Losing your hair sucks! Getting it back can be great! But, buyer beware! Do your homework! And have a wonderful hair transplant experience!
